Join in on the fun tomorrow with "Making Wave's for Autism." The event is sponsored by I.M.P.A.C.T which works to Improve Middletown's Program for Autistic Children Together. The money raised at the event will help autistic children in the Middletown School District. IMPACT has already done so much for autistic children including recently purchasing tons of equipment to build a life skills room at the middle school level at Bayshore Middle School. Come Saturday, July 26th at 10am to ride your waverunner from Chris' Deli and River Plaza Marina located at 483 West Front Street in Red Bank, NJ.
I.M.P.A.C.T. is concerned with children that are affected with autism. Autism affects, to varying degrees, a child’s social and communication skills. There is no known cause or cure, but children affected by autism can be helped with education and intervention. IMPACT works with the local school district to purchase books and supplies for the autistic classrooms and sponsors training for teachers and paraprofessionals that work in the special education classrooms to ensure that the staff is well equipped to handle these children. In addition, IMPACT has purchased equipment to build a life skills room at the middle school level. The current rates of autism in New Jersey - 1 in 94 children are diagnosed with autism.
Jersey City Fire Department will meet the waverunners at the Statue of Liberty with their 55 foot fire boat and they will be spraying water as the waverunners circle the Statue of Liberty. From 10am to 4pm there will be music, face painting, food, raffles, a magician, and more at Chris' Deli and Marina. So don't miss out on all the fun and for a great cause!
