Now come on, admit it. How many times have you seen a cat's rear end and thought to yourself “that looks like a pencil sharpener”.
We have, loads of times, and from this slightly twisted thought, the Sharp-End (geddit?) was created.
What is it?
Sharp-end is a beautifully formed plastic cat which looks great on your desk. Stick a pencil up it's bum, twist and marvel as the cute little kitty sharpens the pencil. What's more, there's a sound chip inside which makes the poor thing yelp 'meowww' everytime a pencil is inserted.
But isn't that cruel?
No. It's a lump of plastic.
What's the point? (no pun intended)
a. It's really funny. It makes people laugh.
b. People will always need sharp pencils. During the cold war, NASA spent millions of dollars on trying to develop a pen that would work in space. The Russians used a pencil. Pencils are technology-proof, but they'll always need sharpening.
c. If you're not convinced, then consider this; it's a silly, trashy gift. There doesn't need to be a point (except on the pencil).
Sharp-end comes packaged in a clear acetate gift box, and stands on it's own litter tray to collect shavings.
The RRP is £6.95.
