Being a second year Political Science undergraduate at York University, Adrian Paris quotes the influential Yale professor William Graham Sumner (1840-1910) who said, “Rights do not pertain to results, but only to chances.” Adrian believes that he has certainly been given this chance. Having recently opened his own company called Oakville Music Lessons, Adrian is grateful for this opportunity given to him by the Ministry of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, for their grant towards the start of his summer company and their supportive student mentor program, as well as to his supportive family.
“Not many students are given this kind of chance, whether it is because of financial constraints or simply lack of a supportive environment,”
Adrian’s love for music and interest in the running of a company, prompted him to go ahead with this new business venture. Any profit that he makes will be going into his education fund, as he plans to go to Law school in a few years. Adrian feels that, “The experiences that I get, along with the people I meet will be valuable resources for my communication skills and will help me become a better person”.
