Jul 23, 2008 – Sports tourism may include a golf weekend, a visit to a sports hall of fame, or a vacation designed around seeing the homes and playing fields of famous athletes. Travel writer Bijan C. Bayne has written stories about such destinations, from Dallas and the Byron Nelson golf tournament, to Daytona and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Now Bayne is the Sports Travel Correspondent for Traveln On Radio, a nationally-syndicated program which also airs locally in the Washington, D.C. market. The Washington broadcast is Saturdays from 11 a.m.-noon, and the hosts are noted travel media personalities Ian and Tonya Fitzpatrick.
Bayne's travel articles have appeared in AAA Horizons, Ohio, Pathfinders Travel, Hotel Executive, Atlanta Goodlife, Family Digest, and the bed and breakfast magazine Arrington's Inn Traveler.
