SHOOTING JOHNSON ROEBLING is a smart comedy that pokes fun at our society’s obsession with reality TV, dead icons, and the concept of celebrity. It follows the journey of film student, Charles Pavolski, as he struggles to find his purpose in life. Initially, we find him sacrificing his integrity in a world of reality TV and high-powered network executives. Ultimately, he breaks free and kicks in a door to the underbelly of NYC on a hunt for his missing mentor. With only a week until graduation, Charles’ film project takes him on a wild ride which will change the course of his life forever. All this happens in 82 minutes filled with dozens of laughs, great moments of insight, and the efforts of over 60 cast and crew members. And unlimited sausages. (You’ll just have to see the movie)
SHOOTING JOHNSON ROEBLING was produced and directed by local NJ residents, Tommy Walsh and Christopher Burke. The best friends created characters and storylines based on experiences they had growing up in NJ, and ones they had while trying to break into the entertainment business in NY. This film does their local roots proud, incorporating beautiful shots of the area and a few local actors. In true homegrown “Indie” style, the guys cast their friends, families and pets in many roles, in addition to several hardcore New York Method actors, and used their homes and apartments as locations. The award winning SHOOTING JOHNSON ROEBLING will be making its New York premiere at the INDEPENDENT FEATURES FILM FESTIVAL at Tribeca Cinemas, located at 54 Varick St. NY, NY on July 26, 2008 at 7:00pm. Via an online competition decided by viewers, “Shooting Johnson Roebling” is one of only twenty-one films chosen out of two hundred and thirty films that were in contention.
