PR Log (Press Release) – Jul 23, 2008 – Doing E-learning has released its latest e-learning podcast, "Back to School with E-learning", available now at www.doingelearning.com

Doing E-learning is a regular podcast for people in organisations wanting to benefit from e-learning, and is headed up by Keith Landsborough and Dominique Lowenthal, who have over 20 years' experience between them in technology assisted learning.

"E-learning is now a standard part of learning and development in organisations, and with the trend to do more it’s no surprise there are now a number of academic courses available that cover e-learning. But how relevant are they? To be a professional in this business requires a lot of depth and breadth in several fields." said Keith. “Learning theory, writing for an online audience, visual language, technical acumen, project management skills, business savvy – these are just some of the abilities needed to be effective in this business”.

Judith Good, Director of the IDEAs Lab at Sussex University, and Lyn Pemberton, Principal Lecturer at Brighton University run the Post Graduate Certificate in E-learning that's jointly offered by Sussex and Brighton Universities. Doing E-learning went along to interview both to find out what the course covers, and to find out how relevant to e-learning professionals it is.

Commenting on the course Judith Good said, “For people who do e-learning in companies we found that they hadn’t had a chance to step back and reflect on what they were doing, why they were doing what they were doing, and how they could do it better. The Post Graduate Certificate gives them a chance to reflect on their practice and improve their skills”.

The Doing E-learning podcasts are released twice a month, providing information and guidelines that HR, Training, and Learning & Development professionals can act on today. Future suggestions for podcasts are welcomed by the Doing E-learning team.
