Veteran and Military Families Get Help with Housing

Raleigh custom home builder and local lenders share expert tips for building, buying and financing a new home, with emphasis on special considerations and incentives for Military and Veteran homebuyers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jul 21, 2008 – Raleigh custom home builder Stanton Homes are co-hosting a Veteran and Military Home Buyers Incentive Event in Chatham County with local lender Uli Dietrich of Suntrust Mortgage on Sunday July 27, from 1-4pm.

”In today’s new home market, the questions that buyers ask during the home search process have become much more important.,” said Stan Williams, CEO of Stanton Homes. “It’s essential to understand the ‘big picture,’ from new lending guidelines to cost-effective building, and resale value. “

Stanton Homes is offering this Meet-the-Builder event for homeowners who want to explore options, learn more about the process, and talk to experts about special incentives for military and veteran homebuyers.

Information regarding local businesses working to support military families will be available at the event, including unique lending programs such as the VA loan program, which has gone through recent changes.

”Even if you’ve been through the process before, you’ll want to be aware of how requirements have changed today, and how credit scores and other considerations can affect your financing choices,” said Williams. “This impacts both VA and standard lending programs.”

Stanton Homes also offers in-house new home plan innovations that adapt to special needs. Changes to floor plans can include anything from adding more closet space or bonus areas to providing full wheelchair accessibility and other considerations that meet ADA and Specially Adapted Housing requirements.

“Asking questions ahead of time can save a lot of time and trouble, without signing contracts or divulging a lot of personal information,” said Williams. “Informed homebuyers are in a better position to make decisions. We’re pleased to be able to help with that education process.”

For homebuyers looking for unique features or building techniques, Stanton Homes offers advice and guidelines, as well as tips on features for set budgets.

“Many of today’s homebuyers are planning ahead,” said Williams. “They want first floor bedrooms, wider doorways and easily accessible bathrooms. They’re interested in energy savings and rainwater collection systems. We want to make sure they know there are options.”

Stanton Homes also offers a special program for military homebuyers, which includes an exceptional three percent discount off any Stanton Home, whether complete, under construction, or custom designed on a Stanton Homes lot or the buyer’s. This discount is available for all Veterans, retired, and active duty military, including all branches of the Armed Forces, Reserves, and National Guard, who have served honorably for at least one year.

”Come to our Military and Veterans Incentives Event and print-outs of any home plans you’re considering,” said Williams. “We’ll provide an onsite review of the plan – or if you give it to us three days ahead of the event, we’ll have a free building cost analysis ready when you get here.”

All reviews and suggestions are free of charge.

“If you’re building a home anywhere in this region, we want to provide insights that help you understand your options,” said Williams.

The Military and Veteran New Home Incentives Event will be held at the Stanton Homes Model Home in Cattail Creek, northwest of Pittsboro. It is open to all. Refreshments will be provided.
