The team, led by head chef Tom Court, specialises in providing high quality fine food, using locally sourced produce where possible. The restaurant has a reputation for dishes prepared with the Granary’s own unique slant, such as sardine fillets deep fried in paprika flour and served on sautéed sea asparagus with lemon, and chargrilled cajun chicken with fruit salsa and toasted pine nuts.
The choice of main course includes pan fried fillet of pork wrapped in parma ham, and baked wild line sea bass. The double rosette is only awarded to the best restaurants, which offer greater precision in cooking, and obvious attention to the quality and selection of ingredients.
The Granary’s owner Richard Fletcher said: “I’m tremendously proud of the team here at the Granary, who have worked incredibly hard over the past year to consistently improve the service and dining experience on offer. The double rosette award shows that we are rated by independent inspectors as one of the best restaurants in Worcestershire.”
The award win coincides with a new look for The Granary, which has benefitted from considerable recent investment. The refurbishment includes a walnut veneered foyer, sky lit lounge area and a designer interior for the dining room.
Richard continued: “Our menu changes regularly to make best use of the seasonal produce available. At the moment we’re offering a new summer set menu, so now is an excellent time to come down and see why the AA inspectors have rated us so highly.”
The Granary’s set summer menu is available from 7pm; three courses cost £15.00, Monday to Saturday. A complimentary bottle of house wine is available for parties of four or more. An extensive a la carte menu is also available.
