FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 20, 2008 -
Phil Gramm, John McCain and George Bush have lost their minds to believe Americans are whiners and that we are in a Psychological or mental  Recession.  We are living within a real recession while these gentlemen are accumulating  riches at our expense.

We are stressed by high gas prices, high utilities, layoffs and earth shattering mortgage payments. Many well-educated individuals are in the same position especially baby boomers ages 45-54 according to a report written by the Center for Economic and Policy Research. The report,"The Housing Crash and the Retirement Prospects of Late Baby Boomers," extrapolates from data in the Federal Reserve's 2004 Survey of Consumer Finances (the most recent available).

The subprime mortgage crisis and its foreclosure cousin has affected more than the less than perfect credit borrowers the media has presented. Subprime lenders expanded their market base by offering products exclusively for borrowers with good to perfect credit. These mortgages - option arm, no money down, and 125% home equity were offered to those with great credit.

People are losing their dream homes and their sanity. They are stressed, attempting to cover mortgage payments that are increasing wildly, payments they cannot afford. Property values nationally are dropping sharply trapping people into a negative situation. Their American dream of owning a home, a major investment in America, is being crushed. People are stressed, depressed, and frustrated. People are in a financial funk.  Add to the economic mix of the housing bubble bursting, high gas prices and layoffs, a large bank seized by regulators and people are tettering on the brink of insanity.

Ida Byrd-Hill, President of Uplift, Inc. a 501(c)3 Idea Incubator has published a book, Breakin' Out of Your Financial Funk!, to help people emotionally deal with the financial panic they are now feeling.

Ida Byrd-Hill spent 15 years as a financial advisor and 5 years in Human Resources attempting to educate people to view their financial plan as part of a lifestyle plan and not the plan alone. She  believes, like many other financial/ human resources professionals, baby boomers will not be prepared for retirement unless they rearranged their  lifestyle, careers and/ finances. In fact, approximately 71 percent state " their financial stress makes it harder for them to do their jobs," according to a poll by Workplace Options and Public Policy Polling. Many may not maintain productivity to even reach retirement.

Since it is clear Phil Gramm, John Mccain nor George Bush will help Americans fight this funk, Americans must  read Breakin' Out of Your Financial Funk!  and fight it themselves. The only defense is an offense of  thinking, dreaming, planning and execution of groundbreaking business ideas.
