Contemporary, figurative oil paintings and drawings by artist John W. Carlson now available for critical review and gallery consideration.
Always artistically gifted, John pursued a career in music and art (Cooper School of Art)
during his 20’s and 30’s. Now he has made a full time return to his initial passion of fine art.
John W. Carlson’s work can be found in collections and galleries across the country.
A large drawing obtained by the Erie Art Museum (title: viewpoint”) for their permanent collection is indicative of Carlson’s aggressive visual search for the delicacies and vulgarities of humanity.
John can usually be found, paintbrush or pencil in hand, working in his studio...
playing his guitar or napping with his cats Gray Kitty and Schiele.
Currently John W.Carlson is working on several new collections.
