New Kids in the Kitchen Program Announced for Sagra Cooking

New program allows children to participate in fun cooking activities this fall.

Sagra Cooking just announced a new format to the Kids in the Kitchen program. “We are excited to announce a new format for this program”, reports Chef/Owner Jim Zebert.  “The class is now more of an activity than a meal assembles class.”    Each session will feature a special activity for kids to complete.   The online registration form will indicate an appropriate age to complete the project.  Sagra will accept younger children into the program with parental supervision.  Classes will be held Monday evenings at 5:30 and will take about 1- 1 ½ hours to complete.

All activities are $25 per child.  Dates and times are listed below:

September 8 Monkey Bread- kids will create a sweet treat out of bread dough, sugar and nuts.  This dish will be baked at home.  Appropriate for ages 5 and up.

September 22-  Meatballs & Mariana Sauce- today your child will prepare one dozen meatballs and marinara sauce.    ages 5 and up

October 6 -  Apple Crumb Pie- today we slice apples, prepare and roll out pie pastry and crumb topping.  This dessert will be baked at home.  You can even freeze to bake at a later date     ages 7 and up

October 20-  Candy Apples-  kids will dip and decorate 4 apples in either candy coating or caramel.  ages 7 and up

November 3  Chicken Pot Pie- all American dish for Election Day.  

November  17   Snicker Bar Cookies- a butterscotch cookie base topped with homemade nougat finished with creamy chocolate   ages 7 and up

December 1  Edible Gifts- today kids will create cookie mix in a mason jar.  Great gift with love for the holiday season.   ages 5 and up

December 15  Christmas Cookie Tree- layers of iced cookies tipped with frosting finished with M&M tree decorations.  Their creation will look like a snow dusted Christmas Tree!  ages 5 and up
