“Many pharmaceutical companies believe the rat is a better model than the mouse for human cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis, and many autoimmune, neurological and behavioral disorders,” said Dr. Eric Ostertag, CEO of Transposagen. “The KORC database will help the pharmaceutical industry and academia identify the appropriate animal models to use for their drug discovery and development research.”
