FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jul 17, 2008 – Today's youth are crying out for guidance, love and mentoring.  Watch any television news program and it's peppered with violent crimes from the previous night featuring our young people - particularly African-American and Latino youth.  In an effort to respond to such a cry, Teach One Academy will host a celebrity youth mentoring session on Monday, July 28th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm for male youths ages 13 - 21 in metro-Atlanta. Featured celebrity panelists include, Don Lemon, CNN anchor, Warren Ballentine, nationally syndicated radio talk show host of The Warren Ballentine Show, Tyreal Lewis, CEO of The R Group and Real Street Kids Foundation, Joseph B. Washington, author of "Breaking The Spirit of Average", Jay White, CEO of Fishers of Men Productions LLC, and Hotep, CEO of Hustle University. The event is held at an undisclosed location. All youths must register online to participate in this free forum.

"Do You Know Thyself?" forum is themed to motivate youths to let their voices be heard and to hear from some of today's most influential role models. The mentoring session is the first of four series.  The focus of the discussion will be on three specific defining attributes of manhood: 1) Self-Image; 2) Self-Perception; 3) Self-Identity. Jennifer Toussaint, Executive Director of Teach One Academy shares, "The forum will serve as an impetus to open the line of communication among teenagers and their peers, in addition to the influential role models. The idea is to empower the young men to discuss topics they are not able to discuss with their parents and at times their peers."

Teach One Academy is now accepting applications for their "Be A Visionary Mentoring program for the fall. For information, contact Jennifer Toussaint at 678-215-3475.
