Piribo: New Report Looks at Therapeutic Monoclonal Antibodies in the Drug Pipeline

The report finds that antibody drugs were a $24 billion business in 2007. Authors of the report say that Monoclonal antibodies (MAbs), which can be engineered outside the human body, mimic the body's immune system with the antibody working as the drug molecule. In addition, Mabs are engineered to bind to one particular antigen only making them highly specific.
