MONTREAL’S OCTOBER SKY & EMPIRE ISIS NOMINATED FOR TORONTO INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS
Announced July 11, 2008, two of Montreal’s most talented artists October Sky & Empire ISIS have been nominated at the Toronto Independent Music Awards for Best Out of Province Artist or Group. This is both October Sky’s & Empire ISIS’ first nominations at the TIMA’s and Empire ISIS’ 9th award nomination of 2008. The 4th annual year of Toronto Independent Music Awards is scheduled for presentation on Thursday July 31st at Phoenix Concert Theater, 410 SHERBOURNE ST, 7pm. 2008 has been a busy year, with their soon to be released album “Hell Isn’t My Home” in September 2008 accompanied with the support of their music video "Hit the Ground" that recently reached #4 on MusiquePlus. Their second music video for "Hell Isn't My Home" is already in post-production and will be released later this year. October Sky’s “Hell Isn’t My Home” Canadian & US tour is set to kick off in September, seeing them tour extensively from coast to coast.
About Empire ISIS:
Nominated for "Most Promising Entertainer"
Her first studio effort, “Sound the Trumpets”, was recorded between Montreal, New York, Tel Aviv and Kingston. The album was produced by Prayon, and Overstand at studio such as Tuff Gong, Penthouse, & King Of Kings in Jamaica. ISIS has painstakingly developed her sound and image while maintaining ownership of all her songs under her brothers record label Monumental Records distributed by Universal Music Group.
