Ouray, Colorado becomes the center of the 4x4 wheeling world as Toyota FJ Cruiser owners descend on the beautiful mountain community for the 2008 FJ Summit. From July 16th through July 20th, Last Great Road Trip will be among the many FJ Cruisers wheeling the extreme high mountain passes and winding roads of the rugged San Juan Mountains.
Despite high gas prices, FJ Cruiser owners are coming in from all around the country to wheel with new friends and rekindle memories of last year's Summit. Many of the drivers attending the FJ Summit know truck loads about each other and yet have never met in person. Fueling friendships and the excitement of this get together are a number of Internet Forums where members have been discussing the trail conditions, wheeling gear and most importantly their rigs and the modifications they have made.
Last Great Road Trip's team will once again record stories, pictures and videos of the trip on their Adventure Road Trip Blog ( http://lastGreatRoadTrip.com ). According to Paul Thompson, the team's driver and project manager, this year's overland adventure promises to be even more exciting than their last to the Arctic Ocean. Paul is looking forward to this opportunity to explore the interior of this great country and tell the diverse story of those who live there.
