After receiving a B.A. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Karen worked in corporate America for 15 years when finally deciding to pursue her true dream of working with animals on a full-time basis. Her mother, Lynne, has always been extremely passionate about animal welfare, while providing a loving home to a number of Golden Retrievers and Pekingese over the years.
