When a dog ages, it needs more care and comfort than when they were puppies or in the prime of their life. Now that they are seniors, their diet needs to be changed and monitored and the way the owner lives their life has to be altered.

The book addresses special issues that come with a canine in their golden years. Their hips and joints do not work as well as they used to and the book suggests the supplements and diet changes that the senior dog might need.
There is also a section on how to change your house and lifestyle around to accommodate your old friend. Climbing stairs and getting into vehicles are difficult and this informative text teaches how to help the senior dog get around better. Suggestions of how to protect the senior dog in their own house when their sight goes also is covered.
There is even a section of on grief and dying when your old friend finally crosses over Rainbow Bridge to wait for their owners. Though necessary, the book discusses burial and cremation arrangements and informs owners of method to reduce their grief.
