Finalists will be publicly announced on or about October 1st. Winners will be announced at the Sustainable North Carolina Awards banquet on Monday, November 10th at the Raleigh Convention Center. This prestigious event attracts a wide variety of leaders from business, government, non-profits and academia from across the state.
“Everyone spends a lot of time writing and talking about sustainability. We want to showcase the people and organizations here in North Carolina that are taking action,” said Katy Ansardi, president of Sustainable North Carolina. “ We want to inspire people to take initiative in their own organizations.”
Past winners of the Sustainable North Carolina Awards include The Redwoods Group, Cree, Skanska, the State Energy Office, Larry’s Beans, Piedmont Biofuels, Shaw Carpet and SJF Ventures.
In addition to being presented with a trophy on stage at the awards ceremony on November 10th, winners will be showcased online and will receive opportunities for publicity. A new feature of this year’s event will be a poster session with finalists prior to the awards ceremony.
