July 10, 2008 - PRLog -- Great Deals on Great Meals.  In today’s economy, it’s refreshing to find good deals and great values.  “The Kernville”, one of the Oregon coast’s most popular, well-known dining establishments, located on the scenic banks of the Siletz River, just South of Lincoln City, Oregon, has launched a dining club that does exactly that and a whole lot more.

The “KDC”, Kernville Dining Club, is designed to give members special savings when dining at “The Kernville” while helping generate capital funding for the purchase of the real estate so that the operators, John & Kathy Bingham and their crew can have greater security in controlling their collective futures.  John said, “This program also allows us to continue to support the community through charitable donations to a variety of worthy causes, from high school athletics to art and cultural programs as well as environmental and humanitarian organizations including activities of churches, schools and clubs.”

John explained the dining club program like this:  “Members purchase gift cards just like those from the phone company, department store, what-have-you, that are loaded with a monetary value, say, $500.00.  Every time the member dines at “The Kernville”, they use their card to pay for their meal, drinks or merchandise and they also get a 10% discount!  The members get a great deal and they help us realize our dream of owning this wonderful, historic and beautiful piece of property.  We actually have two levels of membership: a regular or supporting member, that is someone who purchases a gift card with a value between $100 and $400 and a Charter member, someone purchasing a gift card valued at $500 or more.  Charter membership also has extra privileges in addition to the 10% discount:  special pricing on Kernville merchandise: apparel, glassware and mugs; invitation to special events that will include Seasonal Food and Wine receptions; extended 10% discount for two years after using up the dining credits originally purchased and all members who so desire will receive subscription to “The Kernville Kronikles”, newsletter updates regarding goings-on at “The Kernville”.   Membership will ultimately be limited to 2500.  As a special incentive to “get the ball rolling”, the first one hundred Charter members will be designated as “Founding Members” and will enjoy the on-going benefit of a lifetime 10% discount.”  Whose lifetime you ask? “Well, let’s say at least five years… who knows what’ll happen five years down the road?  We started this program on June 20th, “in-house” and are grateful to currently have 17 Founding Members and 5 regular members”

“We have some pretty ambitious plans for ‘The Kernville’,” Bingham went on to say.  “The plans include remodeling the building to install solar water heating equipment and  photo-voltaic panels on the roof to improve the energy efficiency of the operation.  We also hope to reinstall a dock on the river to allow guests to access the restaurant by boat.”

“We’re also committed to purchasing as many of our supplies as possible from local sources.  This includes veggies from “Barking Dog Farms”, locally grown poultry and beef  and locally caught seafood.”

The Kernville is open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM and is located on Highway 229, 1/8 mile east of Highway 101 on the North bank of the Siletz River, about a mile North of Salishan Lodge and a mile South of Lincoln City.  You can get more information about “The Kernville” on their website at www.kernvillesteakhouse.com , by emailing kernville@kernvillesteakhouse.com  or calling them at 541-994-6200.
