Wawa, Ontario— Naturally Superior Adventures is hosting their first women’s only multi-activity retreat at their lodge based on Lake Superior July 18-20, 2008. Some of the weekend’s activities will include yoga, kayaking, biking, hiking and the all import “relaxing”
Naturally Superior Adventures runs sea kayak instruction and multi-day sea kayak trips out of their base located just south of the town of Wawa. They have recently started to expand their operation to involve lodge-based workshops and retreats from their Rock Island Lodge located on the same site. “More and more of our customers are looking to stay at the lodge and do day trips” says Naturally Superior Adventures’ director David Wells. “If people want a warm shower and a soft bed at the end of the day, then we will give it to them”.
Event coordinator Megan Romano says she’s excited for the weekend. “Get a group of women together for a weekend you can’t help but laugh and have a good time. It is a very friendly environment and everyone comes away from it with some new friends”. Other women’s events held in the past have included yoga retreats and multi day sea kayak adventures.
Other activities taking place during the weekend will include optional wellness sessions such as; Reiki with Reiki master Leona Leroux; Therapeutic Touch with energy therapist Aldona Mitrikas and Massage Therapy with Deb Sanders. All three women are local to the Wawa area and are excited to participate in the weekend. There will also be a concert on the Saturday night in the front room of the lodge that overlooks Lake Superior.
Other lodge-based adventures held at Rock Island Lodge include a Greenland Style Paddling Symposium coming up in August and a Photography Workshop held in November.
