PR Log (Press Release) –
Jul 09, 2008 – iPhone users will be able to access National Nine News, Wide World of Sports, Messenger, Hotmail and other ninemsn services with the touch of their fingertips.
Ninemsn is the first online media publisher to announce a custom made-for-iPhone website.
Optus will be the first service provider to sell the iPhone on Friday, with a special midnight launch marking the occasion in Sydney's CBD.
Optus is the only carrier to release an outright price for the phone — $729 for the 8GB model and $849 for 16GB.
The only people allowed to purchase phones at the launch, however, will be those who paid a registration deposit — the remainder will have to wait until 7am when other stores open.
Telstra is understood to be planning a similar event at their Sydney TLife headquarters, which lies across the road from the newly-opened Apple store.
ninemsn is Australia's number-one interactive media company. Over 8.2 million people (as at May 2007) visit ninemsn each month, making it the largest online audience in Australia. ninemsn represents over 75 per cent of reach to all Australian Internet users.
