Mexico's National Polytechnic Institute Goes Solar... In a Big Way!

Instituto Politecnico Nacional, one of the largest universities in Mexico, recently selected Aquatherm Dealer and Distributor Modulo Solar to install what is believed to be the largest solar swimming pool heating system in North America. The 704-collector Ecosun system provides 70-75 percent of the energy required to maintain the Institute’s Olympic-sized pool at an average of 28ºC (83ºF) and is automatically controlled. The largest previously reported North American solar pool heater installation was a 500-collector system at the El Cid Mega Resort in Mazatlan, Mexico. Since becoming an Aquatherm Dealer and Distribution Center in 2001, Modulo Solar (www.ModuloSolar.com.mx) has completed a number of large-scale solar pool heating installations, including one at the largest aquatic park in Mexico, El Rollo Villages.
