UCI support the golden lap
The uci decided to support this event for the promotions of the mountain bike sport.

1.What is the Golden Lap
The Golden Lap Award honours the most all-round cross country mountain biker for his/her contributions to the mountain bike sport. The public, teams and the press all can select the mountain biker with the most technical skills and charisma and recognize his/her sports personality.
With this award we wish to bring more attention to the international and Olympic merits of the sport. In all fairness, it is important that every member of the press and of the official teams be able to quote their favourite racers. By dividing the weight of the total points equally amongst the 3 voter groups (30% press, 30% teams, 30% public and 10% from UCI ranking)
2. Participation free for press and uci teams
The participation is free for press and uci teams, They can give there votes to the racers of there choice, The only rule for teams is that they may not vote on there own racers. In exchange for participation the press and uci teams get a logo publication on the website golden lap.com. Points given by press and teams : 90-80-70-60-

3. Where is the award ceremonies hold?
We are greatfull that the organisation of the worldcup in Schladmin is also supporting this event,There for the award show will take place after the last world cup of this season in schladming, The show will take place in a location on site of the woldcup in schladming, The teams will receive tickets for this event as also the press who participated .
