Jul 07, 2008 – Under the Workshop Track II: Black & Feeling Blue, iask, Inc. President Sophia A. Nelson and iask VP of Health & External Affairs, Dayna L. Smith offered (President & CEO of Substance Abuse Solutions, LLC) a unique workshop titled "Relational habits of black women". The workshop was focused on the demographic of professional black women and some of the very daunting challenges that professional black women face in the 21st century as opposed to what our mothers and grandmothers before us faced. The workshop offered some unique statistics and perspectives that will be profiled in an upcoming Washington Post Outlook Piece giving voice to the unsettling dilemma that professional black women in America face relationally & professionally. The article will be authored by iask President and prolific writer Sophia Nelson in the July 13th Washington Post.
The iask organization is dedicated to the 5 core areas of professional women of color's lives: career, relationship, health, spirituality, and finances. The Black Women's Health Imperative is an advocacy organization dedicated tothe education, advocacy and training of the nation's 19.5 million African American Wwomen and girls.
