Brighton, TN -- Best Consignment Shop Software redesigned its software program (for resale, thrift and consignment shops) with FoxPro 9.0 for the same reasons the U.S. Department of Defense and the Euro Tunnel Project chose FoxPro for their intensive projects - for data storage capacity, processing speed and data integrity.

Consignment software is actually a software program and a database wrapped into one program. Earlier technology required a third-part component like MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) to facilitate exchange between the software and database. The additional steps created problems for software developers and users alike.

Software developers were constantly struggling to attempt to build dependability and data integrity into their systems with inadequate tools. Software users were hindered by data loss and corruption as well as the inconvenience of extra service calls to get corrupted data fixed. Often data would be lost and/or data would have to be reentered.

The new version of Best Consignment Shop Software links software directly to the database via FoxPro 9.0. Fewer moving parts yields greater data safety and faster processing (which is very important in larger databases).

Improved data integrity requires far less maintenance for the software user. BCSS now includes a button which when pressed, auto-refreshes the database, restoring links between software and data and thereby eliminating the expense of down time and the inconvenience of zipping data files and sending them off to support.

As side benefits, store owners are no longer required to share their data with the software vendor, and fees like $69 charged by one Miami-based vendor for a 'data tune up' are eliminated.

Customer support rep Cynthia Southall of BCSS said, "This is a huge improvement and will certainly contribute greatly to our cost savings and customer satisfaction."
