The ever-expanding professional networking site for hospitality and catering professionals, hotcatUK, has been boosted by the launch of its official newsletter hcUK. The newsletter, which is available through the hotcatUK website, contains news about the site, developments in the industry, opinion pieces, restaurant reviews, the latest vacancies and career options in hotel and catering as well as interviews with industry professionals. The inaugural edition featured Streatham-based restaurant Oiishi, an article on the use of the term ‘discretionary charge’, and a detailed interview with Anne Pierce, CEO of Springboard Charitable Trust, who talks about her entry into the industry, the changes she has noticed since she first started (very much for the better), and how Springboard has developed in the 18 years since its inception.
According to Sonya Lipczynska, the editor of hcUK, the newsletter aims to complement the information on the website, drawing attention to the very latest news, and considering current issues in the industry. As she explains, “We are also committed to featuring all industry professionals from room attendants to human resources executives, finding out about their chosen paths, what they think about the development of the hotel and catering industry and their future ambitions. The newsletter will also highlight the newest vacancies as well as training and development opportunities for hotcatUK members.”
Jose Ruiz, creator of hotcatUK, is also enthusiastic about the latest developments:
