Fundraising With Style: Evening Gowns Show “the Look Of Success”

For the more than 300 attendees of “The Look of Success” event on April 26, it was 30 noteworthy local leaders strutting their stuff in designer suits and couture gowns provided by local boutiques such as Diamond Bridal Gallery.

“The Look of Success” annual gala benefits the Nonprofit Resource Center in Sacramento, and honors the area’s shining stars board leadership, organizational accomplishment and executive leadership. This year’s event highlighted the accomplishments of business leaders Dr. Evangeline Higginbotham (Discovery Museum) and Bill Kennedy (Cottage Housing) as well as organizations PRIDE Industries and Strategies for Change. And to underscore the point of how radiant success can be, the awards program integrates a unique fashion show. Instead of the runway models, “The Look of Success” dresses “models of success”— Sacramento area business leaders costumed in trend-setting fashions.

Providing some of the most stunning fashions this year was Diamond Bridal Gallery of Granite Point. Reigning Miss California Tracie Stafford and Diana Borroel of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce wore the daring and breath-taking creations of high-end Eastern European designs of Oksana Couture.

“Our last segment of the fashion show was formal wear – and the models wearing the beautiful and distinctive gowns from Diamond Bridal Gallery ensured that we ended our event on a very elegant note,” said Nonprofit Resource Center Executive Director Ann Lucas.
