(Ottawa, Canada) – NorthSeas AMT (NorthSeas), the pioneer of e-mail archiving software for appliance solutions, today announced release of the latest version of its vendor-neutral e-mail archiving application which includes support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 archiving and iSCSI storage.
Changes introduced in the newest version of Microsoft Exchange have been accommodated in this new release (NSG 3.2.2). A single NorthSeas system can now archive messages from Exchange 2007 servers as well as messages from previous versions of Exchange and other vendor’s mail-server applications.
“Many customers currently using Exchange 2003 will soon be facing the choice of migrating to Exchange 2007 or to a different vendor’s mail-server application,”
Adding iSCSI to the two previously supported storage protocols – CIFS and NFS – gives NorthSeas customers the option of using an IP Storage Area Network (SAN) as their e-mail repository. IP SANs provide NorthSeas systems with advanced back-end storage capabilities like dynamic storage-pool allocation, disaster recovery, and much more.
“With support for iSCSI, we can now offer customers a simple-to-deploy integrated solution, combining our MailFRAME e-mail archiving appliance with our DataFRAME 2112 SAN Appliance,” says Greg Wolff, Area Vice President for Product Marketing at MPC Computers, a leading U.S supplier of server, appliance and storage solutions, and a NorthSeas OEM partner. “The combination of MailFRAME and the DataFRAME 2112 provides the flexibility and scalability customers have told us they want for long-term e-mail retention.”
NorthSeas’ NSG 3.2.2 release is now available to customers through its worldwide network of distribution-
