Jul 04, 2008 – Moolchand Medcity for the first time in the city of Delhi had organized a unique community service project: Bone and Joint Care Week. Free bone and joint checkup, bone densitometry and counseling were available with the help of specialists of great eminence.
The convenor of the project, Dr. Manoj Kumar highlighted that the need for such projects cannot be overemphasized. The project had 3 prongs including awareness, checkups and diagnostic and therapeutic facilities. Dr. Manoj said that osteoarthritis and osteoporosis are of enormous occurrence especially among women in the age group of 40-50 years. He further said that more than 160 patients were examined of which 60% had osteoarthritis and almost 50% were osteoporotic. 5% of the patients had frozen shoulders.
The other members of the faculty who were present in the project and rendered free services included Dr. M G Abott, Dr. Arun Goel, Dr. Hemant Sharma, Dr. Punit Dilawari and Dr. P S Bajaj.
