You’ve also shown you understand that perseverance and dedication are significant to attaining your goals.”
Don also urged them to take advantage of the opportunity that they have created for themselves and to take stock of the sacrifices that they made to get there.
Don began his fifteen minute speech with a quote from Tom Brokaw, the keynote speaker at his own undergraduate graduation from Syracuse University. He ended the speech with a quote from Tim Russert, delivered in a commencement speech he gave in May, only a few weeks before his recent, sudden death.
In between, Don spoke of the myriad of changes the graduates were likely to see during the span of their careers and their lifetimes, both in technology and socially. He then described the changes which he has seen and experienced during the span of his twenty-five career.
