Wal-Mart Joins Project RISE
Local Youth Enrichment Program Receives Major Donation

Boston, July 1, 2008- Project RISE is proud to announce that it has received a donation today from Wal-Mart Stores that will enable the program to admit additional kids to this years academic and cultural enrichment summer camp. Project RISE, was started by former NBA guard and Dorchester native Rob Dixon back in 1991 after retiring from professional basketball and provides an academic and cultural summer camp for over 300 kids from greater Boston.

This summer over 300 children from the greater-Boston area will participate in the six-week, full-day program that includes instruction by local public and private high school teachers in Math, English, Science, History, SAT Prep, and Study and Organizational Skills. The academic portion of the program is four days leaving Friday’s for field-trips which will include trips to the Museum of Science, the New England Aquarium, and the Museum of Fine Arts and Multicultural History.
