New indoor play facility at Conkers.

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 01, 2008 – The new ‘hands on’ play area,’ The Enchanted Forest’, has been built in an effort to improve the attraction’s indoor offering. The attraction is based around a woodland theme, featuring giant animals and plant life which can be found at the base of the woodland, giving users the feeling of being in miniature during the play experience.

The Enchanted Forest features larger than life items such as giant acorns, metal leaves, mushroom roofs, butterfly roofs, leaf roofs, crawl panels and seed panels. Climbing walls, a suspension bridge and tube slides, rope spider webs, log ladders and grass snake crawl tubes with pods have been added to help create the woodland feel. Mike Stickland, managing director of Planning Solutions Limited on behalf of the National Forest Foundation, commented: “With over 120 acres of woodland and lakes at the heart of the National Forest site, there is plenty for visitors to do outdoors with walking areas, nature and art trails. “However, we are keen to improve our indoor visitor experience so the centre will continue to attract visitors all year round despite the season or weather conditions. “We have worked with Western Log Group in the past with the installation of activity trails at Conkers, and we appreciated the flexible and organic approach Western Log Group brought to the project. We are delighted with the new visitor experience and, as anticipated, the new Enchanted Forest area has helped to refresh our indoor offering and has stimulated more local visits.”
