The intent of the conference is to formulate recommendations to the U.S. Federal Government and key industries regarding noise control policies and regulations. Ramifications of recommendations are as diverse as protecting worker hearing, helping to improve patient recuperation and reduce communication errors in hospitals, creating a better learning environment in industry, schools and universities, and controlling noise pollution from industrial machineries and processes.
The 3-day conference will include the presentation of practical papers aimed at solving noise control problems. Keynote presentations will focus on mechanisms of hearing loss from intense sounds, Acoustical Holography, and the role of industry associations. Over 200 abstracts and papers will be presented, with over 40 exhibitors demonstrating the latest hardware and software tools. Attendance is expected to be over 400, including engineers, technicians, administrative and top management from industries including automotive and other durable goods manufacturing, healthcare, and education, as well as the U.S. government.
