According to The FBI’s National Crime Information Center’s (NCIC) Missing Person File as of December 31, 2007, there were 105,229 active missing person records in NCIC. Children under the age of 18 accounted for 54,648 (51.93%) of the records, and 12,362 (11.75%) were for young adults between the ages of 18 and 20.
Every year, hundreds of seniors and others with dementia wander away, on foot or driving, and if not found within 24 hours, at least half suffer serious injury or death, according to the Alzheimers Association. The PositionTracer acts as a mobile guardian angel to its owner, and is especially suitable for the location of children, elderly, or those that are disabled or ill. In urgent situations, such as an accident, kidnapping, illness, or even theft, an emergency signal can be sent simply by pressing the “PANIC” button. For example, if a child wanders off path on their way to school or the park, parents are immediately informed through a signal via their cell phone, and are able to act quickly for their safe return. Functions like these offer a great deal of protection for both people and property.
Similarly, it can guarantee the protection of vehicles, boats, and other objects by means of an automatic alarm signal. Once the object is moved from the defined area or stolen, the software notifies the owner.
