James received the Songwriter’s Award along with Jermaine Dupre for the song “Outta My System”, the second single off Bow Wow’s fifth album, “The Price of Fame”, which peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 2007. The song also uses a sample of the James song “Hollywood”
Meanwhile, James daughter Ty is stepping out to the rhythm of her own funk. A fashion maven, the petite beauty has been featured in numerous cameo appearances and is now set the launch her debut CD in latter 2008.
Ty explains, “I am an extension of my father, so I have a few surprises on my new CD, but ultimately, I’m giving you Ty, it’s all about developing a solid music style that’s explosive and alluring enough so fans will keep coming back for more.”
Born under the zodiac sign of Cancer, Ty is currently conducting interviews, modeling, working on a book, reviewing movie scripts and passionately protecting her family’s heritage as she claims her own spotlight in the entertainment industry.
