It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s Super Style Zip!

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 30, 2008 – Vallecito, CA -- Sierra Nevada Recreation Corporation now offers a new, even more thrilling way to fly on their 1500-foot twin zip lines at Moaning Cavern Park. The Super Style emulates the flying position of a super hero and delivers participants even faster to the landing tower.  The fastest so far clocked in at 47 miles per hour, as compared to 40 miles per hour for the regular zip.

Zip lines were installed at Moaning Cavern Park last summer and have been an incredible hit, accounting for the biggest sales ever in the history of the company.  Tandem zips in which an adult can fly with their child on the same trolley for a maximum combined weight of 280 lbs, were introduced earlier this year.  Along with regular zips done singularly in a seated position and the new Super Style, this makes 3 different way that zips can be done at Moaning Cavern Park.

Sierra Nevada Recreation Corporation’s (SNRC’s) president Stephen Fairchild says of the Super Style: “Almost as soon as I came up with the idea of putting zip lines in at Moaning Cavern Park, I wanted to be able to offer a superman style.  It has taken us some time, and many test runs to perfect the new braking and harness system providing a comfortable, horizontally oriented zip.  Now that’s completed, we’ve introduced it over the last few weeks and it is a hit. Everyone who has done it says they love it!”

Just in time for July 4th, the new Super Style Zip is being introduced as one zip in a 3 zip package.  Visitors pay $79 for 3 zips on the same day, and can choose to do the last one Super Style.  This package offers a savings over individually priced zips which run $39 each.  Participants in any of the zip styles, available daily, year round, must be between 70 and 280 lbs. There are no age restrictions.

Moaning Cavern Park also offers guided walk tours into the cave, 165-foot rope rappels and 3-hour spelunking Adventure Trips.  The park has been open to the public since 1922 and holds California’s largest public cave chamber.  The introduction of the zip lines is part of an ongoing company development plan to bring more activities and adventure to their attractions with a focus on the natural environment.
