Seminars Take A Big Bite Of The Big Apple

New York City is still the most popular location for seminar attendees according to SeminarInformation.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jun 25, 2008 – Business seminars - they are popping up all over. You can't have lunch out during the week or fly on a plane without hearing the word "seminar." American workers are taking them in droves to learn new skills to get jobs, to learn new processes to fill the gaps in their downsized companies, and to help them get ahead in their current jobs.

But where can these workers go to find the most seminars being held? New York City, this according to Seminar Information Service, Inc. (SIS), whose www.SeminarInformation.com lists over 360,000 business and technical seminars given by various corporations, associations and universities yearly.

"We started in 1981 with a book of seminars and New York was the biggest venue then, says Catherine Bellizzi, SIS President. "Today, some 27 years later and on the Internet, New York is still the leader."

New York accounts for over 10% of the seminars held in this country. That means over 36,000 take place there yearly. The next nearest city is Washington, DC,  with 6%, then Chicago, Atlanta, Boston and San Francisco with 3% or more.

"When you take into account the revenue such seminars bring to a city in terms of hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions, there are obvious benefits to attracting seminars to your city," says Bellizzi.

Since 1981, SIS has been the recognized expert in the training information field, providing its seminar information to the Fortune 500 and individuals alike first in book-form, then on CD, and now on the Internet. Visitors to www.SeminarInformation.com can search for the seminar they need by key words or the title or description, or by category, city, state, date range, or any combination. Once they find what they need, they can read an outline of the seminar and even register right online on SIS's secure site.
