Programming unveiled for « Festival acadien international de Par-en-Bas »
July 11th to 27th, 2008
(Tusket, Nova Scotia June 25th, 2008) – It is with much pride that the organizers of the Festival acadien international de Par-en-Bas revealed today the programming of its very first edition. Featuring a cornucopia of activities ranging from music to cinema, crafts, cuisine and historical workshops, the organizers are beaming with satisfaction at the numerous possibilities offered to the community as well as to visitors of the area of South West Nova Scotia commonly know to local Acadians as « Par-en-Bas », or Argyle. This corner of the world can also boast its tenure as the oldest Acadian region still inhabited by Acadians.
The guides for the festival have begun to be distributed in various tourist centers. Many will be quite pleased to learn that world-class acts of the more international spectrum of l’Acadie such as Zachary Richard, Grand Dérangement, Pascal Lejeune, Oumou Soumaré, Dwight D’Eon and Fayo will be performing in the area, from July 11th to 27th. Amongst these shows will be a very special moment prepared by George Belliveau, Paul Hébert and Monique Poirier for the Grand Opening Show at the Village historique acadien in West Pubnico.
While waiting to put their hands on a copy of the official guide, the public is invited to get familiar with all this brand new festival has to offer by visiting the web site: www.festivalacadien.net
