Some more facts about Biothene:

If it is exposed to direct sunlight and heat in approximately 18 months the biothene will degrade to be NON-TOXIC. Even buried in landfill sites biothene will completely degrade due to the initial exposure to sunlight.

Biothene bags have a metal ion and a catalyst added to the polythene. These additional elements react to sunlight and this reaction breaks the molecular chains in the material making it safe and environmentally friendly.
