FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jun 24, 2008 – Raleigh, NC – Sustainable North Carolina (SNC) is hosting the 7th annual Sustainable North Carolina Awards on Monday, November 10th at the Raleigh Convention Center together with the first-ever Sustainable Solutions Expo.

The Sustainable North Carolina Awards honor organizations that have demonstrated success in integrating social responsibility and environmental stewardship.  This year’s expanded must-attend event will feature a sustainable business forum, tradeshow, poster session, dinner banquet and one of the world’s most influential business strategists.  This prestigious event attracts a wide variety of leaders from business, government, non-profits and academia from across the state.

Peter Senge, author of the Fifth Discipline and founder of the Society for Organizational Learning, will be the keynote speaker. Senge has worked with leaders in business, education, health care and government around the world, translating the abstract ideas of systems theory into tools to create economic and organizational change.  Says Senge, “Our real future lies in building sustainable enterprises and an economic reality that connects industry, society and the environment.”  To hear “Quicktalks,” by Senge, visit http://www.sustainnc.org/awards.

SNC is partnering with the Association for Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education and Seven-Star Events to produce the Sustainable Solutions Expo (Nov. 9-11) at the new LEED-registered Raleigh Convention Center. The SS Expo is a first-of-its-kind tradeshow for providers of environmental and socially responsible products and services to reach a targeted audience of 1500+ institutional and business decision makers. The tradeshow will be open to participants of AASHE’s co-located conference, which draws sustainability directors, senior administrators, facilities personnel and design consultants from 400+ campuses across the U.S. and Canada, as well as participants of the SNC Awards event.   In addition, day passes to the Expo will be available to professionals from local and regional organizations.
