Jun 24, 2008 – Gina F. Rubel, a distinguished Bucks County attorney turned public relations expert and president/CEO of Furia Rubel Communications (www.furiarubel.com) in Doylestown, Pa., was elected Chancellor of The Justinian Society of Philadelphia (Italian-American Lawyers) on June 9 at their annual meeting at the Union League in Philadelphia.
Rubel follows in her family footsteps. Her father, Richard F. Furia, a Philadelphia attorney, served the Society as Chancellor from 1997 through 1999. Rubel’s grandfather, Judge Edward W. Furia, served as Chancellor from 1954 through 1956.
The Justinian Society, founded in 1935, is a legal organization comprised of attorneys, judges and law students of Italian-ancestry. The Society's members celebrate generations of involvement within the legal community by engaging in activities directed toward fostering a spirit of good fellowship, maintaining honor and dignity of the legal profession, performing civic duties, administering justice, and promoting the study of law.
"Gina thoughtful, intuitive and constructive leadership style will solidify The Justinian Society’s stature as one of the premier legal societies in Philadelphia,” said incoming Vice Chancellor, Edward J. DiDonato, Esq., of Fox Rothschild LLP.
Since 1991, while still a law student, Rubel has served The Justinian Society as Widener University Student Chapter President, member of the Board of Governors, Web Site Committee Chair, Programs Committee Chair, Treasurer and Vice Chancellor.
"I am honored to serve a society that is steeped in heritage, tradition and justice," said Rubel. "I look forward to celebrating our 75th Anniversary in 2010 in honor of the legal practitioners who have paved the way for the rest of us.”
Along with Rubel’s appointment, the members of the Society unanimously elected the following officers for one-year terms; Vice Chancellor, Edward J. DiDonato, Esq., Partner at Fox Rothschild LLP of Philadelphia; Secretary, Roberta D. Pichini, Esq., Partner at Feldman, Shepherd, Wohlgelernter, Tanner, Weinstock and Dodig of Philadelphia and Treasurer, Gino J. Benedetti, Esq., Partner, Middle Market/Emerging Company Group at Dilworth Paxson LLP in Philadelphia.
Attorneys also unanimously elected to serve three-year terms on The Justinian Society’s Board of Governors; Stephen J. Amoriello, Esq., of Tactix Real Estate Advisors LLC of Radnor, Pa.; Dawn M. Tancredi, Esq., Associate at Mattioni, LTD of Philadelphia; Carl A. Solano, Esq., Partner at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP of Philadelphia; Michael B. Grasso, Esq, Associate at Rocco Law Offices, LLC of Philadelphia and Francis M. DiMeo, Esq., Partner at Rosen, Schafer & DiMeo, P.C. of Philadelphia.
