http://www.theanniversarypresent.com, a UK website dedicated to wedding anniversary gifts and ideas recently carried out a survey of married women's views on wedding anniversaries.
The results highlighted that 87% of all the women surveyed, celebrated their wedding anniversary. 96% said that they would like it if their husband celebrated the occasion and appreciated the effort made. 73% said celebrating their wedding anniversary enhanced their marriage in general and allowed them to enjoy a luxury experience with their husband.
Of the best anniversary presents received, romantic travel came out as the most preferred gift, with 31% of the vote, followed closely by well-chosen flowers and jewellery.
Household goods were the least popular gift and this category made up almost half of the worst presents received, with toilet roll holders, washing baskets and weighing scales amongst those named and shamed. Soft toys, cheap flowers and calendars also appeared on the list of most undesirable presents.
