Lightweight, Low-Profile, Three-Hole Helmet Mount for NVG’s

June 23, 2008 - PRLog -- A new mount for Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) from Wilcox Industries mounts directly to a MICH helmet and incorporates a Universal NVG mount with a breakaway base that is completely constructed from a lightweight aerospace-grade metal.  Depending on operational conditions, a switch allows the mount to easily breakaway from the base under conditions such as fast roping, maritime operations, and hard-impact or while entering and exiting mobility platforms reducing the likelihood of neck injury.

Ergonomically positioned controls allow for easy one-handed near/far, vertical or tilt adjustments to create precise modifications to the eye relief of the NVG’s even while handling a weapon.  The system is compatible with NVG suites AN/PVS-7A, 7C, 14, 15 or 18.  A convenient button flips the mount straight up so that they NVG’s have a low profile when stowed.  When the Wilcox AN/NPS Metal Interface Shoe is used a magnetic switch powers the NVG’s off when flipped up.
