Catering Equipment in Schools for Compulosry Food Technology Lessons

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 20, 2008 – “From 2011, every 11 to 14-year-old will be given, hands-on cooking lessons in how to make cheap, healthy dishes from simple, fresh ingredients. Cooking has never been compulsory in secondary schools before.
Over 85 per cent of schools already have the facilities in place and offer food technology classes - lessons will be compulsory and will cover basic cooking skills for all pupils in these schools from this September and in every school from 2011.”

Harmony as well as offering commercial catering equipment is also helping schools upgrade to meet the new legislation. We have recently helped a number of local schools by installing new catering equipment, offering maintenance programmes and ensuring existing equipment is fit for purpose. In one case study we were able to help one school with new equipment in a mix of ceramic and gas units. This equipment was supplied from new including servicing for as little as £3 per unit per week including a full servicing package.
