FCCA Customer Service Training in Guaymas, Mexico

On Tuesday, June 3rd, FCCA’s Vice President, Adam Ceserano, journeyed to Guaymas. Directing training seminars to service providers and taxi drivers on service excellence, respect for the customer, courtesy and price, Mr. Ceserano provided these professionals with the skills to understand and satisfy visitors.

FCCA is proud to assist Guaymas ready themselves for their promising future. Several other calls are already confirmed between 2008 and 2009. Guaymas realizes they must cater to the tourists brought about by these consolidated projects.

Hosted in the Hotel Armida, these workshops were planned to further the efforts made by Mayor Antonio Astiazarán Gutierrez. He believes advancements such as these prepare the people for their first cruise arrival of Holland America Line Ryndam—scheduled for October 16.

Guaymas has taken even further efforts to prepare for the upcoming cruise passengers. They are working with the Technological Institute of Sonora and the State Tourism Promotion Commission to get a group of 25 tourist guides certified by the Federal Tourism Board to have a group of professionals and upgraded ready staff to receive tourists.

As Jose Luis Castro, Guaymas’ Port CEO tells how the FCCA training programs jump started the tourism engine, “It seemed to me, that Adam, made an excellent participation, was very explicit in his commentaries to wake up the interest of Guaymas's Community, exhorting them, to give always a quality service, putting in their minds that everyone that want to earn money, is going to be able to do it, only if they put in the shoes of the visitor and fill their expectations.”

Walter de Cima, Economic Development Director, shares his appreciation of the FCCA’s aid, "2008 has been deemed the year for training in the city of Guaymas by mayor Antonio Astiazarán; what better way to comply with this commitment than having our cruise industry partner, the FCCA, come all the way here to do hands-on training for service providers and taxi drivers. We appreciate all the assistance we have received from Michele Paige and the FCCA."

With the combined efforts of Guaymas and FCCA, the city will definitely ready themselves to make any visitor feel at home and any itinerary complete.
