New Initiative To Encourage Energy-efficient Boilers

A new initiative which promotes the use of energy-efficient practices, such as low energy light bulbs and improved heating systems, has been launched in the city ahead of its first ever climate change conference, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports.

Named Transition City Leeds, the project will offer advice and encouragement across a number of carbon-cutting moves - which one of the scheme's organisers, Paul Chatterton, hopes will address the urgency of such measures.

"There are a lot of simple changes people can make which are not difficult but which ultimately will make a difference," he said.

According to research conducted by the Energy Saving Trust, not only do homeowners help the environment with the installation of greener condensing boilers, but could also save up to £200 per year.
