Writer Development Discounted for SA Writers Centre Members

The Brascoe ethos is based on a solid foundation of creative and professional writer development. The discount to SA Writers Centre members acknowledges the role that the SAWC plays in developing and assisting writers throughout South Australia.
The types of services that Brascoe Publishing offer are manuscript development (assessment and mentoring), offered as a combined package.

Manuscript assessment, until a manuscript appraisal, provides a writer with the opportunity to have his or her manuscript assessed by a professional editorial team, with appropriate feedback. It provides for a mentoring-style relationship for the duration of the assessment, and it also provides time for meetings and discussions about how the manuscript could be adapted, improved, or polished.

Unlike manuscript appraisals, the Brascoe manuscript assessment does not assess the publishability of a manuscript. It is a purely developmental tool, and it fills a gap left behind by major presses that can no longer establish good professional development relationships with their writers.

It is for this reason that the Brascoe assessment can be applied to any type of manuscript, from notes or first drafts to polished works.
