PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 17, 2008 – In the words of Biggie Smalls: “it was all a dream.” A dream that became a reality one cold December night in Berkeley.  Two of our partners were drinking 40's on the roof of their apartment complex. One of them went inside and came back out with his 40 stuffed in an oven mitt.  This visionary feat kept his hands toasty and his malt liquor cold.   Not willing to stop there, they expanded on the idea and added the handle, and many gritty urban designs.  After college they moved back to San Diego and enlisted the help of their friends to start a company that would revolutionize Malt Liquor consumption.

Less than a year after introducing the 40cozy to drinkers around the world we’ve been featured in numerous blogs; we’re now carried nationwide by Urban Outfitters as well as many boutiques and even a barber shop in Southeast San Diego.

What:  

The 40cozy is a neoprene beer cozy (some call it a koozie) for 40oz, malt liquor bottles. It fits snuggly around the bottle and gives it some class. We think our friends down at the San Diego CityBeat said it best:

“Think back to last time you were sitting on the front porch smoking weed and drinking 40s. Remember what a buzzkill it was when the wet pearls of condensation on the outside of the bottle kept making your fingers wet and your blunt soggy? It must have sucked, but henceforth you’ll be able to stay high with your hands dry now that you can wrap your favorite malt liquors in sweet, soft 40 cozies.”
