In 1986, Jacobsen launched the first Turf Groomer®. In 2007, Jacobsen developed an improved groomer for 7” diameter LF fairway reels. This new design provided major improvements relating to serviceability and ease of use. These new groomers made it easier for anyone to groom consistently.
Jacobsen is please to announce that they now have new 5” Turf Groomers® for the 100 Series Eclipse walking greens mowers. This Turf Groomer® is similar to the 7” version, designed for simplicity and reliability, making the practice of grooming as easy as possible.
Following are just some of the great new features:
Always on
• You don’t have to turn the groomer on and off. It now runs continuously (even when it isn’t grooming), which helps to clean out the roller to prevent clogging.
• There are fewer moving parts, meaning less repair and replacement.
All adjustments are made from the front
• Greasing of the groomer bearings is easier.
• All of the adjustments can be performed by using a ½” wrench.
Accessibility
• The groomer can be lifted up for accessibility, allowing you to bench grind a reel without removing groomer components.
Consistency
• The groomer “remembers”
• It automatically limits to 50% of the height-of-cut (i.e. 1” height-of-cut = .50” grooming). This limitation increases part life as it keeps the groomer out of the soul and functioning like a groomer, not a verticutter.
Covers
• The new cast covers prevent the accumulation of grass, allowing longer belt life.
